Audience feedback and
evaluation of college magazine
What went well the comments that I
have received on my blog were mostly positive, however, I did receive positive feedback.
Personally, I think that my magazine is good for a primary attempt because I tried
to incorporate typical conventions of a college magazine. Also, it was well tailored
to my target audience of 16+ (yr. 12 to 13).
I used Photoshop to create my college magazine because the features allow me to add and distort the images that I have used. the different fonts and colours allowed me to make my cover page look more eye-catching

The feedback I got for my
cover and content page was that the layout for the contents page looks
professional. In addition “I liked the way you chose different fonts, which
makes it more attractive.” Another feedback I received was “I like the layout
of your front covers it look really professional and colourful. However to
improve you should have kept to a simple colour scheme as you used many
different colours. Also you should change the colour of the purple writing as
you can't really read it.” The final feedback I received was “I like you layout
on your Front cover and Contents page. It's eye-catching and i love the top
part of the front cover, it looks unique and professional. Using two images on
the contents page and putting the page number is clever, well done.”
What
went well- at first glance of my cover page it looks very professional and
suitable for a college magazine. This being because the cover star is very reliable
and you can tell that she goes LSC. Also the use of the black vector to polish
the appearance of the magazine which ties the whole colour scheme together.
Additionally,
for the content page a similar affect has been used to continue the colour
scheme created on the front cover. Also the use of pictures is easily identifiable
of where they have been taken in the college. I have only listed main features
that will be in the magazine as in other real magazines that I have researched.
I
liked that my magazine is available on social media sites that people can look
at and follow when it comes the LSC Magazine. These platforms are important because
teenagers are more likely to view something on their phone and also it is more convenient.
Therefore, by having the social media websites on the front cover it shows that
it will directly be accessible for the target audience.
What possible improvements I could
make
From
the feedback and for me personally, the two key points for development when
producing my magazine is one, I would brighten up the content page with more
pictures and fonts because it doesn’t have the same effect as the cover page.
Two, I would change the composition of my
cover page because it still looks quite armature and not like a real magazine, also
change the font and colour to make it easier to read and more eye-catching.
Tyanne - your college magazine shows very good understanding of conventions and some very good technical skills. Well done! Your evaluation is generally clear, but some more detail on how you used the software would be helpful. Also make your areas for improvement skill based i.e things you could develop when making your music mag.
