my content page

This is my final and completed contents page

As you can see the three colours that runs throughout the front cover and content page is the colour light blue, black and white. I have the blue colour for headings of the features and black for the descriptions.

The reason why I changed the colour to these three is because I felt that it looked professional which will grip readers attention because they are bold colour and with the contrast of how the images colour in the background, it pops out of the page. I decided to write it in capitals to enhance the boldness of the word that I want to emphasise which was the effect I was going for.

Cover #1 attempt

This is my first attempt of my music magazine cover

This is my final and completed music magazine cover

As you can see visually the magazine looks more professional and polished because it is more structured, I have done this by placing a majority on left side of the cover. Additionally, I have added a small sales line under the masthead ‘connect with the latest tunes’ it also add authenticity to cover; I also added the date and price because they are magazine conventions. Likewise, I have added a pop/puff to the cover to advertise the main features album and also shows the magazine use different social platforms

Photo shoot #2

...
I have decided to do another photo shoot because the previous one was rushed. I think the photos were not what I intended to use for my music magazine, so I have scheduled more photo shoots so that I will have more photos for selection, when deciding whatever I want to use them for my music magazine. Furthermore, I think this model is more suitable for my target audience because she is in the age group targeted. However, these images are not suited to the cover page because they are not the same quality as the previous images.

Masthead fonts

Masthead font

All of the font choice I have done are quite experimental. Reason being I want my masthead to be unique which adds particular branding to my music magazine also, it will be easily recognisable when it is being distributed in shops. I learnt how to use the text icon to type what my masthead name is and then changed the font and size of my text.  The font that I have tired where either really bold and technique or very simple so it won’t out shine the cover stars. I have chosen to not have my masthead in all caps because it was not suited to the fonts that I have tried out.

Pictures from Photo studio

These are some of my images that I have taken for my music magazine. You can see from that I have taken some of them with different lighting and using more reflectors to have a high key lighting. In images using the reflector look better than those taken without it because it looks more polished. To make the effect of even lighting I used the soft boxes when it came to the flash kit. I took the pictures portrait so that you can get the whole model in and also so that I wouldn't have to stretch the image once I uploaded onto Photoshop. I took a variety of pictures of the model, mid shot long shot and close up because when going. These are some of the pictures that I will use for my content page because they do not have the effect that wanted for my front cover.

Concept of photo shoot

For the 1st segment of my photo shoot for the cover page. I in vision the makeup to be very suite but I I will use use gold glitter eye shadow[TS1] , to highlight the eyes and will be effective against the high lighting. For the cover page because I am using a portrait picture I have told my models to wear a simple black top so it will emphasise the faces and looks more iconic than having loud clothing. Also when I researched RnB magazine the costume has been very simple and the clothing is either lots of colours or more plain and impactful. Likewise, the costume and make-up conveys that the girl group is already well established, so they will not have to try to be so different. The second set of pictures will be for my DTPs and will be full body image because there is more space to fill and will show my artists unified as a group, also because they will not be wearing the same thing it will show their personal style and the different persona’s or personality’s in the girl group- this is effective for the target audience because they can relate to the different members of the group.

Proposal Pitch for music magazine

This is the pitch I am going to be presenting to my class. It is based on what I plan to include in my music magazine. I have thought of these ideas by think of what I would personally like to see in a music magazine- such as the features included and layout and structure of a music magazine. I HAVE put some of my ideas into a powerpiont to visually present something to my media class. However, because I was ill for the previous week most of information is not included in the powerpoint. But, as you can see i have full describe everything in further detail in my video presentation.

My music magazine pitch

this video is from when i pitched my ideas for my music magazine in front of my class to receive specialist feedback on what i can improve to make my magazine better.

My cover Star

Cover star

The cover Star featured will be based on the persona of an RnB diva- I will do this by instructing the "artist" to in body the attitude and fashion as an artist of Beyoncé, This is because my magazine genre is RnB and Hip-Hop music so she will appeal to my target audience.

I am not able to get a real known artists, so I will use someone who can be believable and she will also be within my target audience I will target the cover star as a new artist because then I will have a clear angle to promote an upcoming album, I will do this by structuring my article as a Q and A because you will get to know the artist on a personal level.

Analysis of language and text

Photography induction

Key notes:
Key light set 3 main light
The other on 1 to bring out Face shape
Pull the soft box close for more exposure
Hair line light 1.5
F 3.5
Nice shallow depth of field
ISO 100
White balanced persecution of natural light
Portrait shot

-Lights go off when you are ready to start photo shoot.
-Button on top of camera is for the lights.
-Being too close to the backdrop can cause bleaching. Need to be 5/6 feet away from backdrop.

-The soft boxes and snoot create three point lighting around the subject
-The key light lights the subject/model. The key light is three times brighter .
-The fill light knocks shadows out and doesn't make the subject blend in the background
-The snoot  doesn't make image 2D.
-3/1 lighting ratio. Key light 5, Fill light 3, Hairline 1.5
-The camera is a Cannon 1100
